The marathon is a challenging event, and several months of increased training is recommended in preparation for the run. The increase in running time and frequency place significant loads on the lower body, and can lead to injury.
At West London Physio our pre-marathon assessment is designed to catch injuries before they happen. We do this by correcting any weaknesses or imbalances in the body, advising on training strategies, and advising on foot wear.
During the assessment, we fully assess your muscle and joints in the treatment room. We follow this with digital video analysis of your running and foot pressure analysis on our Gaitscan TM system in the gym. With this information we can then give accurate advice, produce an exercise program to correct any weakness and tightness, and thereby prevent the onset of many injuries.
