Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

‘I have worked closely with West London Physio for the last 8 years and have been consistently impressed with their professionalism and their outcomes. My (often physio-weary) patients describe a fresh, positive approach which gives them great confidence and renewed enthusiasm.’

Mr Sam Church
Consultant orthopaedic Surgeon
Fortius Clinic, London,
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

At West London Physiotherapy we specialise in assisting our patients to return to optimal strength, function and mobility after surgery. We’re at the forefront of post-surgical rehabilitation, and have a fully equipped rehabilitation gym to help speed your recovery. West London Physiotherapy is also involved in regular multi discipline meetings to ensure we remain up to date with surgical advances. In fact we often go to surgery with our patients to ensure we know exactly what has been performed and how best to rehabilitate afterwards.

The road to recovery can be long following surgical procedures, however with focused treatment and exercise, patients can reduce recovery time significantly. Rehabilitation is different for each surgery, but normally involves a graduated strengthening program, and specific hands-on techniques to restore correct joint mobility and muscle flexibility.

Working closely with your surgeon we develop focused individual treatment plans and practical goals that aim to restore a normal life and in most cases improve your level of pre surgery strength and fitness.

At West London Physiotherapy we have extensive experience rehabilitating people from a variety of surgical procedures. Below is a list of common surgeries we see (this is not exhaustive).

If you would like to know how we can help you recover following your surgery please get in touch and speak to one of our physiotherapists.
