Your health isn’t static. As we age, small declines in strength, balance, and mobility can creep in unnoticed. Left unchecked, these changes increase the risk of pain, injury, and loss of independence.
Our Physical Health Check is a one-hour deep dive into how your body is really performing. At West London Physiotherapy, we use advanced tools — including Kinvent dynamometry, force plates, and video analysis — to measure your strength, mobility, balance, and fitness with precision.
The result? A clear picture of your current health, plus a tailored plan to help you stay strong, active, and independent.
Most people only realise they’ve lost strength or balance when something goes wrong — an injury, a fall, or an operation. By checking regularly, you can:

Your one-hour session includes a full assessment of joint mobility, muscle strength (using Kinvent dynamometry), balance, agility, and aerobic capacity. You will receive a detailed written report of your physical profile and a personalised exercise programme targeting your specific weak points. It is the most comprehensive physical assessment you can get outside a performance laboratory.
Anyone who wants to understand their physical health objectively — particularly adults aged 40+ who are active, health-conscious, or concerned about maintaining strength and independence as they age. It is also ideal before starting a new training programme, after a period of inactivity, or as an annual health investment alongside medical check-ups.
A GP check focuses on cardiovascular and medical health markers. Our Physical Health Check specifically measures your musculoskeletal function — strength, mobility, balance, and movement quality — which your GP does not routinely assess. These are the factors most predictive of injury risk, independence, and healthy ageing.
The initial Health Check is a standalone session. We recommend repeating it annually — like a car service — so we can track changes over time, catch early decline, and adjust your programme accordingly. Many clients book their annual check as a standing appointment.
This depends on your policy. Some comprehensive private health plans cover preventative health assessments. We recommend checking with your insurer. The assessment can also be part of a corporate health benefit — contact us for team pricing.
