West London Physiotherapy was established in 2007 with the goal of bringing a higher level of musculoskeletal care to the United Kingdom. Having worked as a Physiotherapist for a number of years in Australia and the UK in both the private and public sectors, founder Cameron Tudor felt that the different approaches and quality of service available in Australia would benefit the UK.
The professional and independent treatment of sports and musculoskeletal problems (joints/muscles/ligaments/tendons) had been well established in Australia for many years. Physiotherapists could routinely order scans and patients did not require a GP referral to have their consultation covered by insurance. This led to a professional and service orientated industry – something that is at the centre of the ethos at West London Physiotherapy. The best possible care delivered in a friendly environment where the patient’s time and needs are given the greatest possible respect and attention.
Upon arriving in London in 2004, Cameron began practising in Kensington where the local residents are recognised for being the most active in the UK, and expect to remain so throughout their lives.
Most of West London Physiotherapy’s patients are recommended by friends, family, GP or consultant. While the majority of patients are from the local areas of Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill, Knightsbridge, and South Kensington, we also see patients from across London and the UK, and even Europe, Asia and the US.
West London Physiotherapy’s treatment philosophy is what has set it apart – listen, seek to understand the patient’s problem, establish a diagnosis and treat it appropriately. This simple but often overlooked approach, combined with the utmost level of care is why West London Physiotherapy is one of the leading physiotherapy practices in London.
At the end of 2014 West London Physiotherapy became one of the first physiotherapist led independent prescribing practices in the UK. That means that patients suffering any type of pain or injury are able to receive appropriate medication and pain relief without having to visit their GP.
